Elohim (Copy)

Elohim or Mighty God, Supreme God, is found in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” In the beginning ‘Elohim’ created. Who is this ‘Elohim’? He is Mighty God, Supreme God. Surely, the Supreme God of the universe is Creator God of all the universe. My God has called all things into being. It gives me rest and peace to know Mighty God, Creator of all the universe knows me and has His eye on me.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How amazing are your thoughts concerning me” (Psalm 139:14-17).

Just in Genesis 1 you can find the name of ‘Mighty God’, Elohim, 32 times.

Have you thought about the awesomeness of the Holy Spirit of God who was with Him as He called creation into being- “and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters” (Genesis 1:2). ‘Mighty God’ and His Holy Spirit had the power to give life to Adam- “The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7) I am thankful that a mighty God has gifted me with life and has HIs eye on me.

Elohim is powerful, creative, mysterious and magnificent.

Pray: Elohim, Mighty God, Supreme God, I give you praise for your gift of life and for your finite care of my inner-most being, knowing me before I was even born. Help me to rest in knowing you as all powerful.
