God’s Promises

Read and reflect on Joshua Chapter 21.

Joshua 21:45 “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.”

The final conquering of the land is coming to an end. The Levites and Priests are given their allotted towns to live in. In verse 44 we see that the Lord gave the people rest on every side- “And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands.” (ESV) God’s promises are true and unfailing. The word of God, the Bible records all these good promises to show every person his truth, forgiveness, salvation, peace, and eternal life. Read it, seek out the truth for yourself, and find the answers you need. The Bible is full of promises worth having. Approach Jesus, who can offer the spiritual rest we desire that protects us through every adversity- “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” Hebrews 4:16 (NIV). Jesus came to offer the fulfillment of the promises.
