Transparent

Read and reflect on Daniel Chapter 9

“Give ear, O God and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests because we are righteous but because of your great mercy. O Lord Listen! O Lord forgive! O Lord hear and act” (Daniel 9:18-19)!

Daniel’s prayer was transparent, and it followed a pattern set by King Solomon at the dedication of God’s Temple in Jerusalem (I Kings 8:22-62). Solomon asked God to hear, forgive and act.

Read over Daniel’s prayer more than once. Feel the emotion of his confession. Grasp the power of his hope!

Are we willing to have God hear our transparent confessions? Are we willing to let God forgive the sins we need to repent of? Are we truly willing to let God act according to his sovereign power in all that we bring to him in a request?

How is your prayer life today? Set a pattern of transparent prayer like Solomon and Daniel. God does hear, God does forgive, and God does act.

Blessings,

Ellen
