Read and reflect on Daniel Chapter 10

In verses 11 and 18, Daniel is referred to as “O man highly esteemed” (NIV), or “O man greatly beloved” (NKJV). Daniel received this title from God because in verse 12, Daniel set his mind to gain understanding and humility. Daniel’s understanding and knowledge came from a desire to learn, and it included studying God’s word, all the Babylonian and Persian’s wisdom literature and observation of several kings and cultural life. How eager are you to learn? A desire to be a lifelong learner is linked to people who get labeled as great leaders. Daniel lived out this example of following God with excellence and it opened advancement toward leadership in the Babylonian culture in which he was a captive. Wouldn’t you like to hear God’s own words about you - “O man greatly beloved!” “O lady greatly beloved!” Embrace a love of learning and use what you gain to lead with excellence!
