YHWH-Holy Perfect God

This name of God isn’t even depicted in a speak able or pronounceable form. It implies such lofty, Holiness that even if I could speak it, I would be flat on my face dead before such a Holy God because I am not holy at all (in fact, I am sinful, and all that God is not). The holiness of God would kill me because I am so sinful.

This is why YHWH came in the flesh as Jesus- equal and perfect in holiness but approachable for the humanity that surrounded His Spirit. Jesus became the protective, forgiving cover for my sin. Therefore, my relationship to God can be repaired (covered by Jesus) and YHWH no longer views my sin but sees Jesus in my stead. The plan of God is truly amazing and reflecting on His names makes me so thankful and full of peace.

Jesus speaks a word to the church at Laodicea and says, “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve for your eyes, so you can see” (Revelation 3:18). Jesus is God in the flesh and came with gold, white clothes, and the salve of forgiveness so our spirits could be rich indeed. Our sin could be completely covered and our eyes could be open to see eternity with YHWH.
