The Wisdom of God

Read and reflect on Daniel chapter 12.

We have come to the end of the book of Daniel. “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:3). “…those who are wise will understand” (Daniel 12:10).

Daniel was given some last instructions from the Lord in his vision about the end of time in this chapter. Those who know God and whose names are written in the book will see eternal life. Those who do not know God, will see eternal contempt.

WISDOM.

Without wisdom from God, man cannot understand that “God is” and that God desires a personal relationship with individuals through Jesus Christ, God’s only Son. The scriptures are filled with an abundance of information about heavenly or godly wisdom. Here are some references for you to look up and reflect on further:

·       “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. . .” (Psalm 111:10).

·        “. . .behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding” (Job 28:28).

·       “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).

The scriptures closely link wisdom, understanding, humility and knowledge of  God with the ability to be in relationship with Him. Daniel was wise, understanding, and humble and had a beautiful relationship with God.

Daniel received God’s promise, “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of your days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance” (Daniel 12:13).

Ask God for wisdom, understanding and humility so that you will make strides toward having a vibrant relationship with Him. You will know without a doubt that your name is written in the book, and you will rise to eternal life, like Daniel.

Blessings,

Ellen
